Purpose:

Learn how to deconstruct the meaning of media messages, and how to spot and avoid fake news.


Learning Objectives:

By the end of this training, you should be able to:

  • Understand the blur between facts and opinion in the media and how to tell the difference;
  • Recognise common types of persuasive language so you can look beyond the rhetoric and think for yourself;
  • Understand how echo chambers can create misinformation and distort perspectives;
  • Use safety tips to spot and avoid fake news.
